Rule discovery on related objects

چکیده
Many-to-many relations are often observed between real life objects. When many-tomany relations are between objects in the same class the data mining process becomes more complicated than mining objects when there are no such recursive relations. Mining objects related to other objects in the same class requires construction and execution of recursive queries and hence interpretation of the results of recursive queries. Here, we describe Rila, a new relational rule discovery system that was extended for mining objects related to other objects in the same class. Experimental results are provided on Mutagenesis and KDD Cup 2001 data sets.

Application of Rough Set Theory in Data Mining for Decision Support Systems (DSSs)
Decision support systems (DSSs) are prevalent information systems for decision making in many competitive business environments. In a DSS, decision making process is intimately related to some factors which determine the quality of information systems and their related products. Traditional approaches to data analysis usually cannot be implemented in sophisticated Companies, where managers ne...
متن کاملFUZZY GRAVITATIONAL SEARCH ALGORITHM AN APPROACH FOR DATA MINING
The concept of intelligently controlling the search process of gravitational search algorithm (GSA) is introduced to develop a novel data mining technique. The proposed method is called fuzzy GSA miner (FGSA-miner). At first a fuzzy controller is designed for adaptively controlling the gravitational coefficient and the number of effective objects, as two important parameters which play major ro...
متن کاملA Multi-relational Rule Discovery System
This paper describes a rule discovery system that has been developed as part of an ongoing research project. The system allows discovery of multirelational rules using data from relational databases. The basic assumption of the system is that objects to be analyzed are stored in a set of tables. Multirelational rules discovered would either be used in predicting an unknown object attribute valu...
متن کاملAction Rules Discovery without Pre-existing Classification Rules
Action rules describe possible transitions of objects from one state to another with respect to a distinguished attribute. Previous research on action rule discovery usually requires the extraction of classification rules before constructing any action rule. In this paper, we present a new algorithm that discovers action rules directly from a decision system. It is a bottom-up strategy which ha...

Pattern discovery in large binary relations has been extensively studied. Typically, it needs to compute patterns that hold in relations Objects×Properties that denote whether given properties are satisfied or not by given objects. An emblematic success in this area concerns frequent itemset mining and its post-processing that derives association rules. It is however clear that many datasets co...
